Peek-a-Boo Pajamas patterns blog tour

16 Nov

This winter I would like to sew pajamas for the kids, in fact I would like to sew for the whole family for Christmas … but since I had never sewn pajamas, I did not decide.

The occasion came from the Boys in Pajamas Blog Tour sponsored by Peek-a-Boo pattern shop and organized by Made for little gents since the beginning of October (thank you very much Sunni!)

The Tour consists of a group of seamstresses testing pajama patterns from the Peek-a-Boo brand to give our opinion about them. I decided on the Classic Zipper Pj pattern, a classic zip-up pajama with feet, because the little one in the house loves this type of pajamas and with its height, it is not easy to find them in stores anymore … and less of fleece, like the wants.

Pattern Pros: The pattern covers sizes from newborn to 10-12 years. It offers three variants: short, long, with or without feet. It comes in layers so you can select the one you need. It is accompanied by a tutorial with color photographs, detailed. There is the possibility of following a video tutorial on YouTube if you have any doubts. The pieces fit perfectly and it is easy and fast to sew. Includes a view for the zipper, ideal to protect from the friction of the zipper.

Cons: the cuffs and the view of the zipper is not a printed piece. You should draw it with the measurements of the size or your zipper length.

Personally I think that the tutorial does not follow a completely logical order for my taste, however, it is easy to find the step you need because it is very visual.

You tube tutorial does not follow the same order as the paper tutorial, I think that for someone without experience it can be messy, but once you decide which one to follow, it is certainly a help that is appreciated.

The pattern is wide but my little is like a noodle .. so next time I think I will reduce size keeping the length so that it fits more snug. Mister bears and above all the model in question are more than happy with the result, which is size 5 without any modification.

Will I repeat the pattern? Without hesitation. Little A has already asked for another one for her, they love to wear feet, and I love that they are one piece pajama.

Do I recommend it as a beginner pattern? More o less. Because the difficulty of the pattern is the piece of the crotch, the zipper and the feet, and with the YouTube video I think it can be followed without difficulty.
